As part of Carers Week, The Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy is hosting a Singing for Fun event on Friday June 10th.
Carers Week is an annual UK-wide campaign to raise awareness of unpaid carers and involves lots of services coming together to promote the support available to them.
The event is aimed at everyone in the community and is dementia friendly.
PKAVS Carers Hub’s Jenny Bruce said: “It’s a chance to have a cup of tea, meet other people, chat to folk and then take part in some singing.
“It’s dementia friendly because everyone is so supportive and makes everyone feel welcome.”
PKAVS is a charity which aims to support unpaid carers through funding applications and one-to-one support as well as group activities.
The event on Friday will begin at 10.30am and run till 12pm.
Ms Bruce added: “These kind of things are invaluable. When you’re caring for someone it can be quite isolating.
“So to be able to go along to an event that involves singing which has been proven to have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing is really vital so people can get some peer support.”
