Residents of Highland Perthshire are being encouraged to make use of the Priority Services Register (PSR) in light of recent storms.
The service provides additional help during widespread power losses for those who need it the most.
This may include helping those who rely on medical equipment which runs on electricity during prolonged periods of supply interruptions.
The line is run by Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks and is open 24 hours a day.
The PSR works with agencies such as the British Red Cross and helps provide tailored advice on how to prepare for a power cut in a way that suits people’s individual needs.
Customers are eligible if they:
- Are deaf or hard or hearing
- Have a disability
- Live with children under five
- Are blind or partially sighted
- Have a chronic illness
- Use medical equipment/aids reliant on electricity
- Are over 60
- Temporarily need extra support
