Indoor Care Home Visiting in Tayside Update

Indoor visiting in care homes can now begin to be reintroduced across Tayside following a change to the planned restart date which was due to the COVID-19 outbreak at the 2 Sisters factory in Coupar Angus.

The Health Protection Team, in collaboration with Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross Health and Social Care Partnerships, considered the current situation across Tayside and agreed that indoor visiting at care homes can restart from Saturday, 5 September, as long as care homes have had their reopening plans and risk assessments reviewed and signed off by NHS Tayside’s Health Protection Team.

The Scottish Government has set out guidance and criteria for care homes to follow to allow the reintroduction of visiting to happen as safely as possible.

Families are advised to contact individual care homes for visiting arrangements.
