Pitlochry Bowling Club Hold Open Day This Saturday

On Saturday 18th of June, the Pitlochry Bowling Club will be running a free open day for anyone wanting to give Bowls a try.

The open day will take place at the Bowling Clubs site on West Moulin Road from 10am until 1pm, with no need to book, and activities for all ages on offer.

Speaking about the open day club secretary Fay MacNicoll said: “it’s going to be a fun day and a chance to be introduced to lawn bowls. This is sponsored by bowls Scotland, who have got many clubs involved in encouraging all ages to join this competitive and fun game.”

The only requirement is that anyone wanting to take part in the open day, should wear trainers or flat-soled shoes which are needed to avoid damage to the green.

Mrs MacNicoll added: “There will be plenty tea coffee juice and biscuits on offer, but most important is to see how the game of lawn bowls is played. It’s a game for all age group, male and female. It can be fun, and it can be competitive too. But it’s also a place to come and socialise and make new friends.”
