The Pitlochry Football Gala ran by Breadalbane Strathtay Youth Football Club and the Pitlochry Pavilion User’s Group will return to the Pitlochry Recreation Ground this Saturday, 11th June.

Around 600 participants from all over Scotland will take part in a festival layout tournament of either four, five or seven aside games. With every participant being awarded with a medal at the end of the tournament.

Breadalbane Strathtay Youth Football Club Chair Mairi McAdams has been telling us what it means to have the event back saying: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the football festival back to Highland Perthshire this year following its cancellation due to the pandemic in the last two years.

“Bringing football to this amazing setting and community, provides an opportunity for all our participants to engage in a social, fun and active event.”

Included in the teams visiting the festival this year are LK Galaxy, Blue Brazil Boys Club, Milan FC, Glenlions, Blairgowrie and Rattray Football Club, Luncarty B, Scone Thistle, Jeanfield Swifts, Bridge of Earn and many more.

The 2014 and 2015 teams will play from 9:45am until 12pm, and the 2012 and 2013 teams will play between 12:45pm and 4:30pm.

It is not just football that will be taking place on the day there will be food including burgers and home baking and a 100ft inflatable assault course.
