Boost for Scotland’s Students With Scotrail Ticket Discount

ScotRail cuts back January train timetable amid Covid staff absences

Scotrail is giving students in Scotland a boost as the return to their studies with a 50% discount on rail fares. Starting this week college and university students can take advantage of the half price Off-peak tickers on Scotrail services across Scotland.

The offer is running until the 25th of September meaning that students can get out for less, with no limit on the number of times the discount during the travel period.

Lesley Kane, ScotRail Commercial Director, said: “Our half-price promotion has proven really popular with students in the past, so we’re proud to once again do our bit to help them make the most of Freshers Week and the start of term.

“Whether students are exploring Scotland before terms starts, going to university for the first time, or heading back to campus to resume their studies, we think this offer will provide a welcome boost to their finances at a time when we’re all feeling the pinch.”

The offer is not available for tickets brought online as students will need to show a valid student ID when purchasing their tickets. Tickets can be brought any staffed station or on-board trains from no staffed stations.

More information on the promotion, including full terms and conditions, can be found at www.scotrail.co.uk/students.
