As a result of Highland Perthshire’s library’s having to close due to COVID, Culture Perth started running a click and collect service for some of its rural library’s.
Pitlochry’s own library is one of these running the service, library users can book ahead, over the phone or by email, to reserve a book from their online catalogue.
Culture Perth’s chief executive, Helen Smout, says: “These are challenging times, and many will find comfort in a book, which can transport them to anywhere in the world, or beyond and at any time, in the past present or future, provide reassuring words or even new ideas for a family supper.
“The new service has been well received in Perth and the team here at Culture Perth and Kinross are delighted to be taking this next step”.
The click and collect service will be running from Pitlochry every Thursday from 4.45pm-6.45pm.
While Pitlochry’s library continues to run this service, Breadalbane’s own library in the community campus is returning to the weekend.
On Saturday’s and Sunday’s, the library is open from 9:30 am until 1pm, where it stops for an hour, resuming from 2 pm until 4:30pm.
Breadlabane is also running a click and collect service which runs on Friday’s from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Helen Smout adds: “We are excited to be able to continue to develop our new Click and Collect service and start the expansion of this to reach as many readers, young and old, as possible.”
