Free Bus Travel in Perth and Kinross in the Run up to Christmas

£2 cap on bus fares introduced

Christmas shoppers from Highland Perthshire will be able to enjoy free bus travel across Perth and Kinross on all local bus services on each of the three Saturdays before Christmas.

The offer means that people in Highland Perthshire can access all that is on offer locally without the extra expense of taking the car and worrying about parking.

Convenor of Perth and Kinross Council’s Environment Infrastructure and Economic Development Committee Councillor Andrew Parrot said: “This is a fantastic initiative supported by Smarter Choices Smarter Places funding secured by the Council. We are working in partnership with local bus companies, who will be reimbursed for the free fares issued on the three Saturdays, to show there are better, more sustainable ways of travel out there than just taking the car.”

“It means people can leave the car at home, saving money on fuel and parking and helping cut emissions at the same time.”
