
A free CPR training session which will equip people with the skills needed to save a life, will be held in Perth next month.
The session, which will be run by Heartstart Discovery, will take place on Saturday, 19th of November and will be from 10am to midday. The session is open to anyone who wishes to learn how to perform life-saving CPR and no prior medical knowledge is required to attend.
Heartstart Discovery Co-ordinator, Helen Brady, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer free Heartstart sessions again. Emergency life support skills really do help to save lives so please consider registering for one of the sessions today. Make it one of your goal to learn these life saving skills or ensure that your emergency life skills are up-to-date.
“A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken so please come along as with the correct training you can make a difference You really can help to save a life.”
During the session, you will learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and how to deal with it, how to care for an unconscious person who is breathing and how to care for an unconscious person who is not breathing. Those who attend will also be able to practice performing CPR on a mannequin and learn about the use of defibrillators and how they work.
As well as the session in Perth, Heartstart Discovery are also holding sessions across Tayside next month, the dates and times for these sessions are:
Dundee – Friday , 4th of November from 2pm to 4pm
Forfar – Thursday, 17th of November from 2pm to 4pm
Dundee – Wednesday, 23rd of November from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Arbroath – Friday, 25th of November from midday to 2pm
Montrose – Monday, 28th of November from 2pm to 4pm
