Free Life Saving Course to be run by Heartstart Discovery This Month

Highland Perthshire residents are being invited to take part in a free two-hour emergency life support training session in Perth this month.

The course will be run by Heartstart Discovery on Saturday 28th of January 2023 from 10am until 12 noon, and will teach its participants the skills needed to save a life.

Helen Brady, Heartstart Discovery Co-ordinator said, “We are delighted to be able to offer Heartstart sessions. Emergency life support skills really do help to save lives so please consider registering for a session today. A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken. Please come along as you can make a difference. You really can save a life.” 

No medical knowledge is needed to take part in the course, which teaches life saving skills including, how to care for an unconscious person who is breathing, how to care for an unconscious person who isn’t breathing, how to perform CPR, awareness of defibrillators and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and how to deal with one.

As well as the session in Perth there will be a number of other sessions taking place across Tayside this month;

  • Forfar – Thursday 19th January 2pm till 4pm
  • Arbroath – Friday 20th January 12 noon till 2pm
  • Montrose – Monday 23rd January 2pm till 4pm
  • Dundee – Wednesday 25th January 6:30pm till 8:30pm
