Residents aged 65 to 69 in Highland Perthshire will soon be receiving letters with their appointments for both the Covid-19 booster and flu vaccination, with appointments starting from mid-October.
NHS Scotland is vaccinating those most at risk first and is asking that patients wait until they are contacted or called forward to book their vaccine appointment. They are also recommending that both vaccinations are taken as soon as offered.
The vaccines will help protect those at high risk from flu and coronavirus this winter, with the delivery of both vaccines together providing maximum protection over the winter period.
The coronavirus vaccine should be given at least 12 weeks after the last dose, while only one dose of the flu vaccine is needed each winter.
It is recommended that front-line health and social care workers receive both vaccinations to protect themselves and those they serve.
All frontline health and social care workers, and non-frontline NHS workers can book appointments online now. Everyone else should wait until they are contacted by NHS Scotland.
