NHS Tayside Delivers 605,000 Vaccines

Ministers ‘will make Covid vaccines mandatory for care home staff’

NHS Tayside have now given out over 605,000 vaccines through their vaccination programme since December of last year.

This means that 91% of over 18s have had their first jabs with the 84% having had both doses.

COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Director Lynne Hamilton said, “I’m delighted that we’ve hit this milestone of delivering more than 605,000 jabs as we reach the end of this stage of the vaccination programme.

“This is a huge achievement and is thanks to the efforts of everyone in NHS Tayside, the health and social care partnerships, our GP colleagues, local authority partners and community volunteers who have supported the programme so far.”

Associate Director of Public Health Dr Daniel Chandler said, “We know that getting both doses of the vaccine provides the best protection against COVID-19 and it’s really encouraging that so many people across Tayside have rolled up their sleeve to help protect themselves, their families and the wider community.

“We will continue running our drop-in clinics over the next few weeks so if you are eligible and haven’t yet been vaccinated there’s still time to get the jab.”
