NHS Tayside Gives out 330,000 Vaccines

AstraZeneca vaccine: World health experts meet to review safety

More than 330,000 vaccines have been given out to people across NHS Tayside and now two-thirds of people have their first jab.

Now two third of people have their second jab as the team at NHS Tayside continue through the ages groups.

NHS Tayside COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Director Lynne Hamilton said, “Our vaccination teams have put in a huge effort to reach this stage and we are so grateful to everyone – from NHS Tayside, the health and social care partnerships, our GP colleagues, local authority partners and community volunteers – who has played a part in this.

“We have now moved into the next stage of the programme and started to invite those in the younger age groups for vaccination.  You will be offered an appointment when it is your turn so please be patient as we work through the age groups and take up the offer of a vaccination when it comes.”

The team are now expecting to vaccinate everyone aged 18-49 by the end of July.

But if anyone can’t make their appointment, it’s important that people reschedule their booking for their vaccination centre.

One volunteer at one centre said: “Should anyone need to amend/re-schedule/cancel /opt out or back in again its important that they do so using these contact details , and for the future clinics offered at the Atholl Leisure Centre.

The 0800  030 8013 is the national bank rescheduling telephone number.
