As June draws to a close, NHS Tayside have proudly announced that 500,000 vaccinations have been delivered across the area.
This comes following the announcement of increased cases of COVID-19 in the area and NHS Tayside encouraging residents to attend their vaccine appointments when offered.
NHS Tayside Director of Public Health, Dr Emma Fletcher said:
“It’s fantastic to have reached this milestone of 500,000 vaccinations. Our vaccination teams have put in a huge effort to reach this stage and we are so grateful to everyone from NHS Tayside, the health and social care partnerships, our GP colleagues, local authority partners and community volunteers who have played a part in this.
“A huge thank you also goes to everyone in Tayside who has rolled up their sleeve so far and been vaccinated. We know that getting both doses of the vaccination is the best protection against the virus and our route to getting back to normal life.
“We are now running drop-in clinics across Tayside as well as our clinics for those with appointments so I would strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to take up the offer of a vaccine.
“Even once you have been vaccinated, please keep following the FACTS guidance and help us get the numbers of cases in Tayside back down. We’ve done if before and we can do it again.”
If you have received an appointment and are unable to attend, you can check details of your appointment or reschedule at: www.nhsinform.scot/covid19vaccineinvitations
