After the Pitlochry Community Council went into abeyance, the Perth and Kinross Council has been working on establishing a new community council.

They’re now looking for at least 4 members of the community to step up and make sure the town has their say in local affairs.

If they receive more than 8 nominations for people to represent people’s views in the town, then a by-election will be held in August.

Currently, the deadline is 4pm on Thursday 22 July for people to sign up.

Promoting the position, the council explained: “Persons wishing to represent their community council must be 16 years of age, reside in the community council area and be named on the electoral register for the community council area in which they are standing. A candidate’s proposer and seconder must also be named on the electoral register and reside in the same community council area.”
