The Pitlochry and Moulin Community Council have cancelled their February meeting and entered abeyance following the resignation of four of the five elected members.
The Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and one elected member resigned yesterday morning leaving just the Secretary in place. The Community Council will remain in abeyance until a by-election can be held and a new Community Council formed.
In a post in the Pitlochry Community News Facebook page the outgoing councillors said it was with “great sadness’ that they resign adding: “Due to the unprecedented stress that we have been placed under due to the behaviours of individuals in the local community and issues that are outwith our control we do not feel we can continue in our roles with circumstances the way they are.
“We would like to thank each and every person who has supported the CC during the time we have been in post, your support has been very much appreciated.”
