Pitlochry New Year Street Party to Return after Two Year Absence

After two years of Coronavirus disruption the annual Pitlochry New Year Street Party will return on the 1st of January 2023 with entertainment from 1pm until 4pm.

Previous years have seen the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band perform and march down the street, with Ceilidh bands keeping the crowds on their toes and dancing.

Speaking on the return of the Street Party, Organising Committee member Cathy Joss said: “ The committee is delighted to see that the 2023 street party will be going ahead as normal. Sunday the 1st of January between 1 and 4  on Atholl road outside Fishers Hotel.

“There will be a Ceilidh band plays throughout, a clown for the kids plus the Vale of Atholl pipe band will play and march.  Entrance into the event is free and we look forward to welcoming you all back.”

She went on to say: “The committee understands the huge challenges that the last three years have brought to the residents and businesses throughout the town and surrounding areas.

“We hope by running by running the street party it brings some well-deserved business and fun back to the area and we thank all who support us in putting this event on, we certainly couldn’t do it without you.”

The organising committee are appealing for help to make the event happen with volunteers needed to help out on the day even if it’s just for an hour or two.
