Raffle Tickets to Raise Money for Community Bonfire

Raffle tickets will be available to buy this Friday and Saturday in Pitlochry’s Co-Op in order to raise money for November’s community bonfire.

It marks the return of the event which was last held in 2019 but then cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.  The winners will be drawn at 6pm this Saturday.

Treasurer of the Pitlochry and Edradour Community Bonfire Committee Sandra Cairncross said: “We’ve had donations from over 30 businesses in and around the town.

“We’ve been delighted by the response of everybody that’s donated prizes to the raffle.”

Lucky winners could get their hands on a range of prizes including theatre tickets, gift bags, screwdriver sets, afternoon tea and cosmetic vouchers.

The bonfire is set to return on November 4th at the Pitlochry recreation ground where there will be fireworks, a bonfire and music along with activities for children.

Cairncross continued: “Obviously Covid is still with us but it’s great we can come together and celebrate.

“It’s nice to have something to look forward to in the Autumn when the nights are getting darker.

“I think everybody who buys a ticket will be a winner because if you get a prize that’s an added bonus but what you’re really doing is laying the foundation for the bonfire because we want it to be an annual event.”

Raffle tickets are £1 each or £5 for a full book.
