Rainbow Heartlands Community Conversation Event to be Held in Aberfeldy

Rainbow Heartlands will be hosting a Community Conversations event in Aberfeldy on Thursday the 11th of August for members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as their friends and family, giving them the opportunity to meet others within the community.

Speaking on the importance of holding these Community Conversations in areas like Aberfeldy, Matt from Rainbow Heartlands said: “We really see this as a stepping stone towards more rural outreach. We really see this as an opportunity to get voices heard from those that live outside the cities, and really make it clear that there is a very wide community out there that actually is that well voiced and also quite hidden as well, and this is open very much to LGBTQ+ people but also family and friends for that reason too.”

This years Perthshire Pride will be hosted by actor and LGBTQ+ rights promoter Alan Cumming who will deliver the opening speech and lead the march. The weekend will provide a range of fun activities for all, with major and community acts performing at the march, a pride market with stalls run by charities that support LGBTQ+ charities, a youth zone which will be providing activities for young members of the community, as well as, a pub quiz, drag shows, DJ set from Cheryl Hole and much more.

As well as the event in Aberfeldy, Community Conversations events have been held across Perth and Kinross with one being held today, 9th of August, in Kinross and one to come in Perth on the 12th.
