Road Closures Confirmed for Etape Caledonia

Etape Caledonia will return to Highland Perthshire on the 15th of May with the course reverting back to its original route after being run in reverse last year due to it being delayed by Covid.

The Road closures for the event have been finalised with Perth and Kinross Council (PKC) putting orders in place for the roads along the route. Road closure orders from PKC will run from 4:30am to 5pm, however Etape will be operating rolling road closures with roads reopening once the last rider has passed through.

A map of the road closure was published by Limelight Sports Club who are behind Etape along with the information below.

As a closed road event, there will be some temporary road closures in place on Sunday 15th May. Please see the full road closure map below. The timings will be as follows:

In addition to the information from Limelight Sports Club We have obtained information from PKC which gives a list of the roads that will be closed along with the other traffic orders which will be in place during the event.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

VARIOUS, NORTH PERTHSHIRE

In order to permit the Etape Caledonia cycle event on the following sections of roads a temporary traffic regulation order has been prepared. It will be in effect from 15th May 2021 from 04:30 to 17:00.

The order will prohibit vehicular traffic, loading and parking on the following roads:

1)  B8019 Strathtummel (A9(T) North Interchange to Tummel Bridge via Garry Bridge)

2)   B846 Kinloch Rannoch to Tummel Bridge (Tummel Bridge to C450 Junction Bridge of Gaur)

3)  B846 Tummel Bridge to Aberfeldy (Tummel Bridge to C447 Weem)

4)  C450 South Loch Rannoch Road (Bridge of Gaur to Kinloch Rannoch)

5)  C450 Kinloch Rannoch (Cuilmore to near Burnrannoch House)

6)  C450 Schiehallion Road (Kinloch Rannoch to Tomphubil)

7)  C452 Foss Road (B846 to A9(T))

8)  Bridge Road, Pitlochry (Foss Road to A924)

9)  C448 Glenlyon Road (B846 Coshieville to C449 Glenlyon Junction)

10)  C449 Fearnan Road (C448 to U162 Duneaves Road Junction)

11)  U162 Duneaves Road (C449 to U177 Drummond Hill Road)

Further Loading bans are also required on the following roads:

1.         A924 Atholl Road, Pitlochry both sides between Rie-Achan Road and Bridge Road from 08:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

2.         A924 Atholl Road, Pitlochry both sides between Ferry Road and Bridge Road from 17:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

3.         Station Road, Pitlochry both sides between West Lane and A924 Atholl Road from 19:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

4.         East Moulin Road, Pitlochry both sides between A924 Atholl Road and A924 West Moulin Road from 19:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

5.         Bonnethill Road, Pitlochry both sides from 19:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

6.         Ferry Road, Pitlochry both sides from 08:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

7.         A924 Perth Road & Atholl Road, Pitlochry (A9(T) South Interchange to A9(T) North Interchange), both sides from 19:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

8.         Newholme Avenue, Pitlochry both sides from 17:00 hours on Friday 13th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

9.         Rie Achan Road, Pitlochry both sides between the A924 Atholl Road and West Lane from 19:00 hours on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

10.       A924 Perth Road, Pitlochry both sides between Dysart Brae and the B8019 from 08:00 on Saturday 14th May to 17:00 hours on Sunday 15th May 2022

Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND SPEED RESTRICTIONS

M9/A9(T) Edinburgh-Stirling-Thurso Trunk Road

In order to permit the Etape Caledonia Cycle Event on the above-mentioned road a temporary traffic regulation order has been prepared and will be effective from the 15th of May 2021 for a period of one day.

The order will prohibit vehicular traffic on the following sections of road:

A.         Left turning from A9(T) (Northbound) to A827 (Balinluig – Aberfeldy) from 04:30 to 17:00

B.         Left turning from A9(T) (Southbound) to A827 (Balinluig – Aberfeldy) from 04:30 to 17:00

C.         Right turning from A9(T) (Northbound) to C452 Foss Road (Pitlochry Theatre) from 04:30 to 17:00

D.         Left turning from A9(T) (Southbound) to C452 Foss Road (Pitlochry Theatre) from 04:30 to 17:00 

The alternative route for vehicles is via:

A.         A827 – A9(T) – B898

B.         A9(T) – B898

C.         A9(T) – A924

D.         A9(T) – A827 – A9(T) – A924

The order will also prohibit temporarily vehicular traffic from travelling in excess of 40 mph as follows:

From a point 1 Kilometre south of B898 (Dalguise Road) junction to a point 1 Kilometre north of B898 junction
