With summer season in full swing, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is reminding people of how to stay safe when swimming in open water.
This can become very cold just a few feet under the surface and lead to cold water shock.
The key slogan is ‘Float to Live’ which means not trying to swim when you found you’ve got into difficulty in the water.
Advice is currently being delivered in secondary schools across Perth & Kinross.
People are being encouraged to make sure they are with a group if they want to go in the water so help is readily available if they get into difficulty.
