Strathtay Ward Local Election Results

The results have been declared for the Strathtay Ward. The three councillors who will serve on the Perth and Kinross Council are Grant Laing (Scottish National Party), Ian James (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party) and Claire McLaren (Scottish Liberal Democrats).

Of the 9,890 registered voters 5,274 submitted ballots a turnout of 53.3%, with the candidates needing 1,290 votes to be elected. Grant Laing received 1,328 first preference votes and was elected at stage one. Ian James received 972 first preference votes and was elected at stage three, while Claire McLaren received 962 first preference votes and was elected at stage five.

Grant Laing and Ian James retain their seats in the Strathtay Ward while Conservative Anne Jarvis loses her seat to Liberal Democrat Claire McLaren.
