Carers in Perth and Kinross can learn about the support available to help them through the cost-of-living crisis, with a series of events on Carers Rights Day this Thursday 24th November.

This year’s Carers Rights Day focuses on Caring Costs, whether the financial impact of providing care or the potential costs to carers’ wellbeing and relationships.

Jacquie Pepper, Chief Officer, Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “This special day is an opportunity to show the high value we place in our unpaid carers and to recognise their crucial role in keeping their loved ones safe and well at home.

“It is also a chance for us to show that we are equal partners in delivering our aims.”

PKAVS are holding a series of virtual sessions on Thursday 24th of November, these are:

  • Carers Rights, delivered by Age Scotland
  • Wills, Power of Attorney and Guardianship delivered by Macnab’s Solicitors, and
  • Perth & Kinross Council’s Welfare Rights Team will provide advice about benefits and income maximisation.

If you would like to book a space at any of these virtual sessions, please contact Jenny Bruce at PKAVS on 01738 567076 or email jenny.bruce@pkavs.org.uk

There will also be an in-person drop in at the Gateway, North Street, Perth between 10.30am – 3.00pm on 24th November.

This will be an opportunity to meet other carers and talk to other organisations about support available.
