Complaints of dog fouling across Perth and Kinross are going noticed by the council who are issuing advice to locals about any incidents they find.

They say that anyone who spots someone dog fouling should report the offence to the council.

A Perth & Kinross Council spokesperson said: “Over the past few years there has been a downward trend in complaints of dog fouling across Perth and Kinross thanks to greater levels of compliance, and we would like to thank all responsible dog owners for their continued support in cleaning up after their dogs.

“Unfortunately, however, our most recent figures show there has been an increase in complaints over the past two months.

“This is disappointing, and we would urge all dog owners to help us continue with our work in reducing dog fouling and to clean up after their pets.

“We would also encourage anyone who is aware of dog fouling issues to report them via our website (www.pkc.gov.uk/dogfouling ) or by calling 01738 476476. It is only by reporting problems that we can target our resources where they are needed the most.

“Our aim is always to encourage, educate and empower residents, however, we will also use all of our available enforcement options, including Fixed Penalty notices, as appropriate.”
