What You Need to Know for this Weekend’s Drop-In Vaccinations

EU threatens export controls on coronavirus vaccines amid AstraZeneca row

This weekend, NHS Tayside are giving first and second doses of the vaccine in Pitlochry over two days.

They’re opening their doors at the Atholl Leisure Centre on Saturday and Sunday (November 20 &21) between 11 am and 5 pm to give out their doses.

The over seventies and critically vulnerable are also receiving blue letters in the post

A spokesperson for NHS Tayside explained: “Blue letters have been sent out in the post with appointments for your nearest vaccination centre. These can be rearranged using the details in the letter if your scheduled appointment is not suitable. You can receive your flu vaccination at the same appointment if you have not yet had it.

“If you are in one of these groups and are six months or more since your second dose and have not received a blue envelope you can now book an appointment at www.nhsinform.scot/vaccinebooking or by calling 0800 030 8013.”

Those who are housebound can also get their vaccines administered at home as well.

An NHS Tayside spokesperson said: “Those who are housebound will be called directly by our vaccination teams to arrange a suitable time for a home visit.  Both the COVID booster and flu vaccines will be given at the same appointment if eligible.

“COVID boosters can be given a minimum of six months since the second dose so housebound patients who are not yet due a booster will be contacted as they approach six months.”
