GP Handover of Gowns Made By the Timebank Team
Updated: May 14
Drs Dave Ashcroft and Vicki Cox, and Practice Nurses Meg Dougall and Alison Parmley couldn’t wait to try on their protective gowns when they were delivered on Monday. Their part of a consignment of 45 for the Aberfeldy Practice cut sewn and stitched by 35 volunteer sewers from Covid19 Support, a local support group formed when lockdown struck. Local firm Kareilia generously donated material. There’s more sewing to come, with 40 gowns for the Carers in Dalweem Care Home, 20 for the local Abbeyfield and another 16 for local carers.
COVID-19 Support is a phone hub. Three local groups, Tay Valley Timebank, Birks Cinema Trust and Upper Tay Transport Group got together to develop a quick and easy help service for locals. Prescriptions collected, shopping, grass cut, pets walked, odd jobs, or just a blether. Whatever you need. All at the end of the phone.
Call 07507 479555 (and after-hours answerphone). We’ve over seventy volunteers covering Aberfeldy and the surrounding area, and even up the glen.
We take your order, buy it for you, phone you to tell you the cost, then deliver it to your door. Safely – 2 metres apart! You can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
