Perthshire Care Home “Hugely Touched” by Community Donations
A popular Perthshire care home has taken time to issue a thank you to the local and business community for donations from laptops to home baking.
Balhousie Pitlochry has been “hugely touched” by the generosity shown to them, said Interim Home Manager Sandra Hutton. She said donated items had run the gamut, from iPad on loan from local schools to home-baked goods for staff.
Sandra said: “The gifts to Pitlochry began as soon as Balhousie Care Group announced that all non-essential visits to the group’s care homes were stopped due to Coronavirus. We received a loan of laptops and iPads from schools and community members, which added to the extra iPads Balhousie provided. It was such a generous gesture.”
Sandra continued: “Since then we have been hugely touched by the donations that continue to stream in and the support the home has received. Local residents have contributed home baking to staff, the Cop-op donated Easter eggs as a treat. Diageo’s Blair Athol Distillery has donated hand sanitisers and £500 to spend on technology for residents to use for keeping in touch and entertainment, while Wild Events donated face masks and goggles. These are just a few of so many donations. We are so grateful for the kindness shown. On behalf of our hardworking staff and our residents, a big thank you to everyone.”
