The Perth and Kinross Council are closing a section of East Moulin Road off for road works throughout this week and next.
The council is expecting the works to take place over one week and are holding out for a second in case the weather gets in the way.
A spokesperson for the council said: “We are planning to undertake carriageway and footway resurfacing works on East Moulin Road from Monday 4 October 2021 for 2 weeks.”
They’ll be closing the road from Monday (October 4) throughout the day, starting at 9:15 (am) in the morning through to 15:00 (3pm) in the afternoon.
The council’s spokesperson added: “The footway works will commence on Monday 4 October 2021 and will take approximately 1 week to complete. These works will be carried out between 09:15 and 15:00, Monday to Friday under temporary traffic lights. However, due to the nature of the works, the temporary traffic lights may remain in place out with the stated working times and overnight.
“The carriageway resurfacing and remaining footway works will commence on Monday 11 October 2021 and will take up to 1 week to complete, weather dependant.”
However, the council is setting up a diversion through East Moulin Road, back down to Atholl Road, and back up West Moulin Road through Pitlochry.
The council added: “Unfortunately, due to the nature of the carriageway works and available road space, a full road closure is required. This is to enable the works to be carried out as safely and efficiently as possible. A signed diversion via East Moulin Road – Atholl Road – West Moulin Road will be in place throughout the closure.
“Access to properties within the closure extents, will be maintained when the works allow and it is safe to do so but there may be delays during the works. Emergency service vehicle access will always be maintained and on waste collections days, please present your bin as normal
