  • 03/10/2022, 11:15 am: Chair Based Exercise

    Chair-based yoga sessions set to music. The class is run by experienced yoga instructor, Emma Burtles, to provide a gently stimulating exercise session to help keep body and mind active with all the associated physical and social benefits. All ages are welcome. We try to make transport available to help make sure everyone who needs a lift is able to attend through our local community volunteer network. Located on the cinema's mezzanine level, which is fully accessible.

  • 03/10/2022, 4:00 pm: Yoga for the Special Child

    A specialised Yoga class for youngsters with additional support needs run by Judy Cameron – a locally-based yoga practitioner with extensive knowledge and experience of the special child. To provide the right ambience and enough space for this type of class, we can accommodate a maximum of 6 young people in this session. Accompanying parents or carers can also participate.

  • Our Lego Animation Club for youngsters with additional support needs is a popular after-school creative activity. Led by experienced practitioners and supported by enthusiastic adult and young volunteers (aged 15-17) trained in animation skills by Edinburgh’s Animation Jam team. The finished animations will be enjoyed by cinemagoers on the big screen – hopefully inspiring some future movie animators!

    A friendly outdoor swimming group for all abilities. Some people just dip, others swim a little bit further, all are welcome. Everyone swims at their own risk. Join the Facebook group for more details. Enter the water at the beach across the green space from the car park at the Dam Visitor Centre.

  • Join the Atholl Wanderers to meet new people and stay active. Walking football is played at walking pace, with players not allowed to run. This includes with the ball or off the ball, and includes jogging. Guys and girls of all abilities and age, all are most welcome. No football strip required - just a pair of trainers.

    Make new friends, connect with nature, and support your physical and mental health, all while enjoying and developing the beautiful Serenity Garden at the Holy Trinity Church in Pitlochry.

    A qualified Cycle Leader will take you on a guided cycle ride in the Aberfeldy area to help with confidence and fitness. Upper Tay Transport can loan e-bikes for cyclists to trial. Contact Upper Tay Transport for more information.

    Join the weekly drop-in Craic ‘n’ Craft afternoons, and bring along your favourite craft or learn a new one! Enjoy a good blether over a cup of tea while working on your current creative project, or contribute to a group project in the company of fellow craft fans. There’s always a supply of wool, knitting needles, crochet hooks, fabric, rag-rugging tools and other materials to share… so you can get crafty in good company! Located on the mezzanine level of the Birks Cinema.
